I remember the days when I was at the beginning in this profession. I was struggling and trying to understand the schematics. At the time I was electrical engineer and I was a shipyard employee in the new building area.
It’s been almost 7 years and I can say now that reading and understanding of schematics either electrical or hydraulic is no longer a secret for me. Even for complex and complicated schematics I will need more time still I can say for sure that I will manage to get them.
Lots of memories are coming in my head right now. I had many questions about schematics and still have but the beginnings were painful. Looking answers everywhere trying to see through schematic lines and symbols the equipment behaves and operation.
At first you have to be on site or to spend lot of hours in the field to check the installation or equipment to see what’s comprises, how it’s behave. You need lot of practical hours and then easy the picture becomes clear.
Get familiar with the equipment and then you don’t have to worry too much.
Then all the time you need the schematics when you are engaged in some project.
Once I spent lot of hours to check why a flushing machine didn’t start. I didn’t have the diagram of the machine just I was using the common sense.
Seems like my common sense is not like others common sense.
So…2 points are very important:
1. Know your machine;
and
2. Schematic is a must.
In this section I will debate mostly hydraulic schematics and if it’s needful I will try to cover also electrical schematics.
Together with you I hope to make this section to be interactive as well interesting.
Let’s share and discuss hydraulic diagrams.
Your opinion is very useful and helpful to us to become troubleshooter professionals.
