Mooring doors equipment consist of a hydraulic valve called counterbalance valve
Unloading mooring doors equipment

The design of the hydraulic system was odd.
The hydraulic valve that should be near the cylinder was mounted below deck.
The counterbalance valve should be placed just after the cylinder to avoid any uncontrolled operation.

I started commissioning of the equipment.
First I replaced original solenoids coils to new solenoid coils and also change the corresponding plugs - replaced all 24V DC coils (8 nos.) with 220V DC coils and installed new electric connectors – with built-in rectifiers.Removed restrictor from bore side port and fit into the rod side port, for all door actuator cylinders.I set maximum system pressure to 160 Bar.
Mooring door arrangement

Started the system and checked the operation of the mooring doors. I found that the doors are moving in one direction.
I really struggled to find the problem. At first I checked the hydraulic system and played with the hydraulic valve. I adjusted and readjusted the valve with the same result. The doors didn't close.

Also in port side the same problem occurs.
Next phase, I checked the electrical system. And after verified the wires one by one, finally I got it.
I checked the electrical connections between solenoid coils and relays in the electrical cabinet. Found cables are connected wrong and cable markings are wrong also. Rectified the wiring and check the operation. Found satisfactory.
For port side doors another problem occurs. An indication lamp in the electrical panel was nonexistent. When door is close the proximity switch is energized and indication lamp should be lit. Found the proximity switch is not energized. The corresponded relay is not energized due to wrong connections between main cabinet and junction box. Rectified the wiring and checked the operation. Found satisfactory.
